Summary

A flint and brick former chapel built in about 1840. The chapel was turned into a school and then a bank. The building has ogee-headed windows, brick pilasters and decorative cast iron railings made by the Burnham Market iron works (NHER 55345).

Listing Description excerpt:
"Former chapel, now a bank. About 1840, later a school. Pebble flint with gault brick dressings, cast iron casements and decorations. Single storey, three-bay facade, four-bay west return...Brick plinth and end pilasters with moulded capitals, elaborately moulded brick and wooden eaves. Hipped roof...Paired cast iron railings attached to the façade have cast iron plinth, elaborately moulded rails with fleur-de-lys spear heads. Cast iron coping to brick wall to west with details identifying as the work of the Burnham iron works".
