1972. Listed Grade II.
Shop. Whitewashed brick with plain tiled roof. About 1700 with early 19th century shopfront. Two storeys and dormer attic. Front of two fluted pilasters to right and left between which is an inserted plate-glass shop display window. Late 20th century doorway to left of elevation leads to passage to rear. Tripartite sash to first floor without glazing bars but under a gauged skewback arch. Timber dentil eaves cornice. Gabled roof has one sloping dormer fitted with a casement. Gable stack to west on front roof slope.

October 2003. Site visit.
(S3) suggests this and No. 3 (NHER 39774) were a single brick house dating from about 1799 and divided into two shops in 19th century. These two buildings are listed separately.

The Heritage Statement accompanying this planning application shows some interesting internal features including 19th-century fireplaces (some blocked) and fan light above internal door and picture window, see (S5).
