Summary

Southgate is dated to 1867, and was formerly a Gate Lodge to Park House (now Snettisham House NHER 47109). This single store building is of carstone with brick dressings and a fish-scaled slate roof. There is a central chimney stack with two diamond-pattern brick shafts.

"Cottage, formerly Gate Lodge to Park House, now Snettisham House (NHER 47109). Dated 'JC 1867' (Jonas Chilvers). Carstone with gault brick dressings, fish-scaled slated roof. Three bays, single storey. Gothic. To south symmetrical facade with two two-light casements."
