NHER 47649 (Building record) - Home Farmhouse, Hollow Lane

January 1984. Listed, Grade II.
The core of this house dates to the second half of the 17th century with detailing added in about 1800. The fabric is pink washed plaster and it has a black glazed pantiled roof. It is two storeys high. There are three ground and four first-floor sash windows with glazing bars. The house has an early 19th century wooden door-case, console brackets, part glazed door with rectangular fanlight with glazing bars. It has a brick dentil eaves cornice, parapets and two end chimney stacks. The south gable is of brick and flint rubble with galetting. At the rear the southwest end pier of flint with brick quoins suggest the rear wall was originally timber framed. An early 19th century single bay, two-storey addition lies to the west, with a ground-floor sash with glazing bars and first floor plate glass sash. The interior shows it to be a single pile house with rear spine corridor. The ground floor has chamfered but unstopped cross beams.
