Summary

White House is an 18th century building with a façade dating to around 1800. This two storey building has flint walls with brick dressings and a gault brick facade. It is L-shaped in plan, and has a roof of black pantiles. The facade is typical of a Holkam Estate gentleman farmer's house, with Samuel Wyatt- derived details of around 1800.

White House, Chapel Street.
House. 18th century, around 1800 facade. Walls flint, brick dressings, gault facade. Roof black pantiles. 'L' plan. Garden front: three bays, two storeys. Gault brick, colour-washed, keyed into earlier house behind (see west gable with built-up Dutch gable). Two tripartite ground floor windows: sashes, glazing bare, under segmental brick arches. First floor: three sashes, glazing bars. Central doorway under 20th century segmental arch, fanlight, glazed door, panelled reveals. Eaves, hipped roof, two central stacks, 20th century pantiles. Rear wing: two storeys, flint pantiled 20th century windows. Facade is typical of Holkam Estate gentleman farmer's house with Samuel Wyatt- derived details of around 1800.
