Summary

An early 18th century red brick house, workshop and store, three storeys high with a basement. It has a central panelled door under a brick arch.

Listing Description Excerpt:
"House, workshop and store. Early 18th century. Red brick; pantiled roof; central brick ridge chimneys. On sloping site; three storeys and basement. Three window range. Central 18th century door with two large, raised and fielded panels, set in a wider blocked opening with cambered brick arch."

The reason for the name The Monastery is the 19th century establishment of 'Father Ignatius.' This utilised this building, and the building to the rear (see NHER 44635).
