Map

September 2006. Norfolk NMP
Earthworks of possible medieval ridge and furrow and linear ditches are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2). These earthworks are centred on TM 4432 9424. Two polygonal areas of possible ridge and furrow earthworks are present immediately to the east of Waterheath Farm at Aldeby. The ridge and furrow in the northern area has a north to south alignment, while that in the southern area is west to east aligned. Ponds of a later date are present cutting the ridge and furrow earthworks in both areas. Also cutting the ridge and furrow are several linear and curvilinear ditches, possibly for drainage. It is likely that the ridge and furrow and is of medieval date and that it relates to the adjacent Waterheath Farm (NHER 10736).
