Summary

Cropmarks of a medieval to early post medieval road are visible on aerial photographs. A linear cropmark is present for 384m on a southwest to northeast alignment. It is mainly visible as a negative cropmark indicating a compacted or metalled surface. This road is marked on Faden’s 1797 Map of Norfolk but had been removed by the time of Bryant’s 1826 map. It appears to have led towards Blofield Cross (NHER 13378).

Cropmarks of a medieval to early post medieval road are visible on aerial photographs (S1). These cropmarks are centred on TG 3471 1013. A linear cropmark of a road is present for 384m on a southwest to northeast alignment. It is mainly visible as a negative cropmark indicating a compacted or metalled surface. This road is marked on Faden’s 1797 Map of Norfolk (S2) but had been removed by the time of Bryant’s 1826 map (S3). It is likely that it was of at least medieval to early post medieval origin. It appears to have led towards Blofield Cross (NHER 13378).
