Full Description
October 2006. Norfolk NMP.
Several possible ditches are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1), centred at TG 4042 1809. If the cropmarks represent archaeological features, which is far from certain, the ditches may have been drains. These may have been associated with the former lake (probably a flooded peat cutting) depicted in this approximate area (perhaps immediately to the north of the site) on Faden’s Map of Norfolk (S2). If the features are archaeological in nature, there may be further, unmapped archaeological cropmarks in this field.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 27 October 2006.
