Map

October 2006. Norfolk NMP.
The site of a possible wreck or former jetty is visible on aerial photographs near the Great Yarmouth harbour mouth. projecting out of the sands on the South Denes (S1-S2). The site is centred on TG 5312 0392 and is located on the southwestern end of the South Denes. The structure or vessel is projecting out of the sands of the bay and is 12.5m by 3.5m and has a tapering end pointing towards the water. It is possible that this is a former barge or vessel that has been incorporated into the side of the Denes. It may also be the remains of a former jetty or breakwater, similar to those more clearly visible to the southeast (NHER 42376).
S. Massey (NMP), 25 October 2006.
