Summary

The cropmarks of a possible ring ditch, potentially the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow, are visible on aerial photographs to the west of Whinmere Farm. The archaeological origin of this cropmark is not certain and it is possible that the marks are the result of agricultural activities.

The cropmarks of a possible ring ditch, potentially the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow, are visible on aerial photographs to the west of Whinmere Farm (S1). The site is centred on TG 4000 2457. This possible ring ditch is incomplete and slightly ovoid in shape, measuring between 27m and 30m across. The archaeological origin of this cropmark is not certain and it is possible that the marks are the result of agricultural activities.
