Map

March 2005. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of undated field boundaries and a possible trackway are visible on aerial photographs to the south of the vicarage, Hickling (S1). The site is centred on TG 4162 2397.
The site consists of a group of linear ditches all roughly aligned roughly along the same axis, or perpendicular to it. These have been interpreted as field boundaries revealing fragments of a former field system. Two slight curving closely set ditches may represent a short section of a trackway, although it may represent a double ditched field boundary or similar land division. Another group of cropmark field boundaries identified within the same field, but following a different alignment have been recorded under NHER 43762.
S. Massey (NMP), 29 March 2005.
