Map

October 2002. Norfolk NMP.
A circular terraced area of probable post-medieval origins is visible on the side of the River Stiffkey valley near Mole Hill on Hunting Survey photographs from 1969 (S1). The mound is centred on TF 9677 4283 and varies in diameter from 17m to 20m. It is cut into the slope to the south and at TF 9677 4282, it appears that a 4.5m long channels is also cut to the south. The circular platform is then terraced into the downward slope to the north, making it appear raised. The origins of this site are not clear, although there has been some extraction in the area and it is possibly related to this activity and may be of post medieval date.
S. Massey (NMP), 21 October 2002.
