Map

October 2002. Norfolk NMP.
The parchmarks of an former rectangular structure of unknown date are visible on Ordnance Survey aerial photographs from 1973 (S1). The presence of parchmarks suggest that this was a walled or banked building or structure and without further evidence a definite date or origin cannot be assigned, although a post medieval date seems most likely. The crispness and regular nature of the parchmarks would also indicate a relatively late date.
The possible building is centred on TF 9705 4206 and measures 9.5m by 7.5m, however the southern edge is not visible. The walls or banks were approximately 0.5m wide. A possible dividing wall/bank 2m long is visible, perhaps separating the structure into 3m and 5m wide sections.
S. Massey (NMP), 10 March 2003.
