Map

October 2002. Norfolk NMP.
The slight earthworks and cropmarks of a bank and ditch of probable post medieval date are visible on aerial photographs, to the east of White Bridges House, Stiffkey (S1). The bank and ditch may be remnants of a sea defence bank of post medieval date, with the ditch acting as a drainage channel. The bank is visible as a slight earthwork and a faint cropmark running from TF 9863 4394 to TF 9866 4365, measuring 288m and up to 6.5m wide. To the immediate east of this is a ditch, which runs alongside the bank for 212m from TF 9865 4372 to TF 9864 4394. The ditch then turns to the east and continues to TF 9870 4393. Another section of the ditch turns off to the east at TF 9865 4388.
