Map

October 2002. Norfolk NMP.
A group of linear and rectilinear cropmarks of unknown date are visible on Environment Agency aerial photographs from 2002 (S1). An interrupted linear runs across the whole site from TF 9929 4385 to TF 9964 4381. It is visible in four sections and covers a distance of 345m. It is possible that this was once a continuous feature and may have been field boundary. An L-shaped ditch can be seen to run from TF 9941 4382 for 33.5m to TF 9941 4385, it then continues to the west for 30m to TF 9938 4386. This may be part of a rectilinear enclosure, although this not certain. Another major linear is visible from TF 9944 4387 to TF 9944 4376, measuring 105m in length. Several other smaller linear features are visible and it is possible that the cropmarks are revealing fragmentary elements of several phases of ditches and field boundaries. The date of any of these features is not known at present.
S. Massey (NMP), 11 March 2003.
