Summary

Several concentrations of prehistoric pot boilers have been found on this site during a fieldwalking survey. Neolithic flints including plano-convex knives and a leaf arrowhead, and fragments of Beaker pottery have also been found.

Context 3 at 6894 8762, formerly numbered NHER 5451.

21 April 1986. Fieldwalking young winter cereal.
Context 1, general scatter of flints HCW CF.
Context 4, moderate concentration pot boilers possibly continuing site HCW 3 (19601) at 6880 8774, but different sort of material. 34m north to south x 24m east to west at 0.8 to 1.1m OD.
Context 5 at 6885 9767, concentration of sparse flint, very sparse pot boilers, on sand ridge beside peat filled depression, 32m north to south x 26m east to west at 0.7 to 1m OD. HCW 104.
Context 6 at 6889 8756. Concentration abundant pot boilers, perhaps mounded up on gravelly sand ridge, 39m north to south x 30m east to west at 0.6 to 1m OD HCW 105.
