Map

October 2006. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of a possible ring ditch, potentially the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow, may be visible on aerial photographs to the north of New Road at Browston Corner (S1). The ring ditch is centred on TG 4983 0321. Other ring ditches and round barrows are located nearby (NHER 12777, 13432, 45207-9). This possible barrow is located just below the 10m contour overlooking a tributary valley of the Waveney, Belton Fen. This site is located within an area of complex cropmarks, see NHER 45216 for an overview, including possible late prehistoric enclosures and fields (NHER 45215).

The cropmarks are quite faint and are located within an area of partially lodged crop (S1). The texture of the field surface makes it hard to be certain as to the origin of the cropmarks and it is possible that the marks are not of archaeological origin. The ring ditch consists of a slightly irregular and broken ditch, 25m in diameter, with a possible outer ditch suggested by a short section of ditch to the west.
S. Massey (NMP), 30 October 2006.

January 2017. Geophysical Survey
Magnetometer survey of proposed development site.
This survey identified no evidence for surviving sub-surface remains associated with this cropmark.
See report (S2) and NHER 67115 for further details.
