Full Description
Pre June 1924. Stray Find.
In 1926 H. H. Halls donated donated flints to the Norwich Castle Museum from two sites in Old Lakenham (Halls' Sites 1 and 2). Although the location of Site 1 (NHER 9567) is not known, Site 2 is recorded as having lain on Mansfield Lane.
Information from (S1).
The finds from Site 2 (NWHCM : 1924.83.2) are recorded simply as "undated prehistoric flint implements". It is however recorded by (S2) and (S3) that the Old Lakenham material in this collection includes a Late Upper Palaeolithic flint blade. Three Neolithic tools are also listed in (S4). These finds are recorded in more detail under NHER 9567, although it should be noted that they could be from either Site 1 or Site 2.
Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 18 July 2014.
