Summary

Metal-detecting in 2006 and 2013 recovered prehistoric worked flint including a Neolithic flint axehead and a prehistoric scraper and flakes; medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; a post-medieval coin; medieval/post-medieval jetton and undated and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include undated casting waste; medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragments and a weight and a post-medieval buckle, cloth seal and unidentified object.

Full Description

12th November 2006. Metal-detecting rally.
1 Neolithic polished flint axe fragment,
1 Late prehistoric flint end-scraper and 3 flint flakes.
3 medieval pottery sherds (1 unglazed and 2 glazed Grimston).
1 medieval/post-medieval jetton, 3 vessel fragments and 1 lead weight.
1 post-medieval lead cloth seal, 1 unidentified object fragment and 1 cloth seal (tinned).
1 undatable casting waste fragment.
Much wartime debris apparent.
