Summary

Metal-detecting and fieldwalking at this location between 2006 and 2022 recovered prehistoric worked flints; Iron Age, Roman, Late Saxon, medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post medieval pottery sherds; post-medieval roof tile fragments; an undated lava quern fragment; an undated piece of copper alloy casting waste; Roman, medieval and post medieval coins; medieval and post-medieval jettons; a possible medieval token; post-medieval tokens and a range of other, Roman to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Roman terret and key; an Early Saxon brooch fragment; a Middle/Late Saxon hooked tag; a Middle Saxon to post-medieval strap end of unusual form; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; medieval casket keys, a candleholder, copper alloy seal matrix, lead weight or spindle whorl and lead spindle whorl; a medieval/post-medieval sword or dagger pommel, copper alloy rings and copper alloy vessel fragments and post-medieval book-clasps, a probable sword-belt fitting, a coin weight, harness mount, pocket sundial fragment, copper alloy furniture stud or nail, lead weights, lead cloth seals and lead powder charger cap.

3 medieval/post-medieval pottery sherds, a buckle, an iron buckle frame, copper alloy rings, unusual copper alloy vessel handle and other copper alloy vessel fragments.
20 post-medieval coins, 8 jettons, 4 tokens, 5 pottery sherds, 3 roof tile fragments, buckles, book clasps, a button, dress fastener, probable sword-belt fitting, belt mount, harness mount, thimble, lead weights and lead cloth seals.
