Summary

Metal-detecting at this location between 2003 and 2023 recovered undatable copper alloy casting waste; medieval and post-medieval coins; a post-medieval jetton and a range of other Late Iron Age/Roman to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Late Iron Age/Roman possible harness mount; Roman brooches; a potentially Roman copper alloy vessel fragment; an Early Saxon brooch; a Middle Saxon brooch; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories (including a post-medieval silver button); a medieval strap mount or furniture mount, mount, padlock, thimble, rotary key, horse harness pendant, silver cross-shaped pendant, lead spindle whorls or weights, lead weights and lead pot mends; a possible medieval writing lead; medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragments, copper alloy rings, copper alloy unidentified sheet objects, lead weights and a lead unidentified object; post-medieval mounts, thimbles, book clasps, crotal bells, a tap spout, coin weight, lead cloth seals and lead powder charger caps and a potentially post-medieval copper alloy rivet.
