Map

April 2007. Norfolk NMP
Cropmarks of probable medieval to early post medieval roads are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S3). These cropmarks are centred on TG 4153 0263. A southeast to northwest aligned section of linear negative cropmark is visible. At its northwest end it forms a T-junction with a southwest to northeast aligned linear cropmark that turns towards the northwest. These negative linear cropmarks appear to relate to the compacted or metalled surfaces of roads. They are flanked by narrow positive linear cropmarks relating to roadside ditches. The pattern of these roads does not correspond to that shown on Faden’s 1797 county map (S4) and it is likely that they are of medieval to early post medieval date. Cropmarks elsewhere in Reedham parish suggest that there has been extensive local replanning of the road network since the medieval to post medieval period.
