Summary

A Mesolithic flint pick and two Neolithic worked flints were found here in 1979. Subsequent fieldwalking and metal-detecting between 1986 and 2006 recovered additional Mesolithic and Neolithic worked flints, Roman and medieval coins and several other metal objects. The metal finds include a Roman brooch; a Roman-type key; a medieval buckle and post-medieval crotal bells and buckle.

Finds recovered by [1];

Found on surface of ploughed field at [2]:
1 Mesolithic small flint pick on mottled grey flint with white patina.
1 Neolithic flint side scraper on mottled brown flint flake.
Apparently drawn by NCM staff, although the present location of these drawings is unclear.

1 Neolithic large retouched flint flake.

April 1986. Fieldwalking.
Found on Bloods Dale by [4], in southeast angle between Low Road and footpath (area centred on [5]):
2 ?prehistoric 'pot boilers'.
2 Mesolithic small flint blades, 3 broken blades and 1 plunging flake from two-platform blade core.
2 Neolithic flint flakes.
Finds donated to Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1998.319.2).
Location marked on pipeline plan (S3) in file for NHERs 22843-22856 (Site B).
