Map

April 2007. Norfolk NMP
Cropmarks of linear ditches, possibly field boundaries, and incomplete enclosures of probable medieval to post medieval date are visible on aerial photographs (S1). These cropmarks are centred on TG 4154 0861. A group of linear ditch cropmarks are present on a variety of different alignments. Two sets of parallel ditch cropmarks are visible. They are closely spaced and it is likely that these relate to field boundaries rather than trackways. An incomplete rectangular enclosure, measuring at least 12m long by 10m wide is present on the western side of this group of cropmarks and appears to be cut by Staithe Road. Other possible enclosures are also present, but they are too incomplete for their form or dimensions to be determined. It is likely that these cropmarks are of medieval to post medieval date and they could relate to a precursor of Staithe Farm. Finds of medieval to post medieval date have been recorded in the vicinity (NHER 33152).
