Summary

A linear depression was recorded during the Felbrigg Estate Woodland Archaeological Earthwork Rapid Identification Survey in 2006. It is a continuation of the earlier road to Cromer and is shown on a Road Diversion Order Map of 1777.

Felbrigg Estate Woodland Archaeological Earthwork Rapid Identification Survey. Great Wood, Site 5:
A linear depression consisting of a c 0.5m wide, up to 1.3m deep hollow, the southern side gradually more prominent as it heads east to link with the existing road.
This is a continuation of the earlier road to Cromer skirting an earlier park boundary, and shown on (S1).
