Summary

Metal-detecting between 2007 and 2016 recovered late prehistoric flint flakes; Roman and medieval pottery; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins and Late Bronze Age, Roman, Middle and Late Saxon, medieval and post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Late Bronze Age socketed axehead fragment; a Roman brooch, furniture fitting and steelyard weight; Middle and Late Saxon strap ends; medieval to post-medieval buckles; a medieval harness stud, lead ampulla and lead seal matrix; medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragments and a post-medieval sword belt hanger, crotal bell, spoon, coin weight, strap fitting, furniture/harness mount, harness mount, lead knife chape, lead cloth seal and lead weight.
