Map

August 2006. Norfolk NMP.
A possible World War Two gun emplacement or similar defensive position is visible on aerial photographs at the junction of Station Road and Burgh Road, Wheatacre (S1). The site is centred on TM 4577 9468. This possible defensive position is indicated by the presence of a small penannular embankment, with a central pit-like feature visible in 1945 (S1). This is possibly a gun position set up to project the road junction.
