Full Description
June 2007. Norfolk NMP.
A group of linear and slightly curvilinear ditches is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1), centred at TG 3474 2244. Their date and function is not known, and their archaeological significance is uncertain. They are visible amongst a busy pattern of geological and agricultural cropmarks, and while the archaeological origin of the features mapped by the NMP is uncertain, it is also the case that further archaeological features could remain unrecognised. If they are man-made, some elements of the site, the orientation of which is at odds with the modern field pattern, may pre-date the Enclosure of the post medieval period, while others may be of post medieval date.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 7 June 2007.
