Map

August 2006. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of a series of post medieval field boundaries are visible on aerial photographs to the north of Burgh Road, Burgh St Peter (S1-S3). The site is centred on TM 4798 9418. These cropmarks sit within a wider spread of multi-phase cropmarks, see NHER 44930 for details. The main component of the site is a series of parallel field boundaries running perpendicular to the Burgh Road. Boundaries running roughly perpendicular to these subdivide the fields into smaller plots and enclosures. These are likely to be associated with the Stockton and Carr Farms to the north. Some of these boundaries are visible on the 1842 Burgh St Peter Tithe map (S4), whilst others appear to have already been removed by this date.
S. Massey (NMP), 11 August 2006.
