Map

June 2007. Norfolk NMP
Cropmark of undated, and medieval to post medieval ditches, field boundaries and roads are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2). These cropmarks are centred on TG 3394 0224 and are located around St. Peter’s church (NHER 10336). Linear ditch cropmarks are present on a variety of different alignments in the area to the west of the church. It is likely that these are field or other property boundaries. Some double parallel ditches appear to relate to trackways or double-ditches boundaries. Cropmarks of two possible roads are present to the east of the church on a roughly north to south alignment. The first of these continues a north to south aligned path that runs alongside the east side of the church, to the north-west and south. Cropmarks of several incomplete enclosures are located adjacent to the northern part of this road. A second road cropmark diverges from the modern line of the road to the east of the church. It is likely that these cropmark are mainly of medieval to post medieval date and that they relate to former settlement activity around the church. An undated curvilinear enclosure (NHER 49518) may also have part of this settlement.
