Full Description
June 2007. Norfolk NMP
Cropmarks of linear ditches, possibly field boundaries, are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S3). These cropmarks were previously recorded as part of NHER 19520. Three sections of linear ditch cropmarks are present on a north-west to south-east alignment with two ditches extending from them to the north-east. Two of the three parallel ditches form a possible continuation of modern field boundaries to the north-west. The modern field boundaries are of late 20th century date and it is difficult to see how these features could have continued as cropmarks. The alignment is also, apparently coincidentally, the same as an Iron Age to Roman field system (NHER 49534). However they cut across a trackway or field boundary belonging to that field system and do not appear to be part of it. It is likely that these cropmarks relate to field boundaries, but their date is uncertain.
