Summary

Aerial photographs taken in 1975 show the cropmarks of a ring ditch to the east of Stone Road. This ring ditch probably dates to the Bronze Age and could be relate to a round barrow.

The cropmarks of a ring ditch, probably Bronze Age round barrow, are visible on aerial photographs to the east of Stone Road, Strumpshaw (S1). The site is centred on TG 3552 0662. The ring ditch is 23m in diameter, with a 2m wide ditch, and has a slightly irregular plan.
