Map

July 2007. Norfolk NMP
Cropmarks of a possible ring ditch of unknown date are visible on aerial photographs (S1). These cropmarks are centred on TM 4137 9574. The possible ring ditch has a sub-circular plan with a typically 7m wide ditch and an external diameter of 48m. The ditch on the north-east side broadens out into a large pit-like feature. A sub-circular pit cropmark, measuring up to 15m across, is also present in an off-centre position within the ring ditch. These cropmarks are faint and the date and function of this ring ditch is not certain. It is possible that it is of Bronze Age date, although its form is not completely right for a round barrow. It is also possible that it could relate to an undated extractive pit or pond.
