Map

July 2007. Norfolk NMP
Earthworks of four parallel linear banks relating to a post medieval orchard are visible on aerial photographs (S1). These earthworks are centred on TM 4159 9552. Four parallel linear banks are present. They measure up to 8m wide and 72m long. These earthworks are similar to parallel linear banks relating to a post medieval nuttery recorded at Kirby Cane Hall (NHER 29792). The first edition 25 inch to the mile Ordnance Survey map (S2) shows parallel rows of trees at this location. Although these do not correspond exactly to the position of the banks it is likely that the earthworks relate to a post medieval orchard or similar plantation.
J. Albone (NMP), 03 July 2007.
