Map

September 2006. Norfolk NMP.
The soilmarks of bank or field boundary of unknown date are visible on aerial photographs, Aldeby (S1). These linear banked feature appears to run in-between a Roman temple (NHER 45036) and a pair of prehistoric ceremonial monuments or barrows (NHER 45032). The date of this linear boundary is not known, although a medieval to post medieval date seems most likely.

The site centred on TM 4521 9376 and the bank runs from TM 4522 9389 to TM 4521 9364. The soilmark is up to 7m wide, although this is likely to represent spreading of the bank material by the plough, rather than the original width.
S. Massey (NMP), 01 September 2006.
