Full Description
July 2007. Norfolk NMP
Cropmarks of rectilinear enclosures, possibly a farmstead of Roman date, are visible on aerial photographs (S1). A rectilinear enclosure is present with external dimensions of 76m by 53m. Internal subdividing ditches separate a 24m wide section along its southern side. Possible entrances are present on the north and south side of the main enclosure. A further incomplete rectilinear enclosure is attached to its eastern side. Cropmarks of single- and double linear ditches are present to the north and east the enclosures. It is likely that these relate to field boundaries and possible trackways. It is possible that these cropmarks relate to a farmstead of Roman date.
