Full Description
May 2007. Norfolk NMP.
The site of possible medieval to post medieval peat extraction is visible on aerial photographs to the east of Ranworth marshes (S1). The site is centred on TG 3694 1475. The site consists of a series of amorphous darker, wetter and slightly sunken areas within the fen vegetation. Comparison with similar sites in the wider Broads area would suggest that these surface characteristics are associated with the site of former peat extraction sites of medieval to post medieval date.
