Summary

A medieval buckle and a post medieval token were found during metal detecting in June 2007. A systematic fieldwalking and metal-detecting survey of part of this field undertaken the same year recovered prehistoric worked flints; a post-medieval clay tobacco pipe fragments; undatable metal-working debris; post-medieval coins and a range of other post-medieval, modern and undatable metal objects. These metal finds included post-medieval buckles, spoons and a button; a modern military badge and undatable copper alloy rings and lead weights.

January 2007. Systematic Fieldwalking and Metal-detecting Survey.
Field survey on proposed route of Norwich Northern Distributor Road (Field 53).
Finds recovered included:
4 prehistoric worked flints.
4 post-medieval coins, 1 clay tobacco pipe fragment, 1 harness buckle, 1 hook, 1 ?knife terminal, 1 ?buckle frame, 1 copper alloy button, 1 copper alloy spoon and 1 pewter spoon handle.
1 modern military badge.
2 undatable metal-working debris fragments (presumably iron), 2 copper alloy rings, 2 fragments of copper alloy waste, 2 lead weights and 19 fragments of lead waste/spillage.
