Map

June 2007. Norfolk NMP.
The earthworks and structures associated with a possible World War Two site are visible on aerial photographs to the east of Haddiscoe village and at the rear of the Haddiscoe Tavern (S1). The site is centred on TM 4470 9701. The site is not particularly clear on the aerial photographs and for this reason nothing has been mapped. It is possible that none of the features visible are military in origin. The site consists of a possible circular feature, potentially the remains of a gun emplacement or similar defence. A row of four elongated light coloured and raised features, visible along the eastern boundary of the site, could represent covered a series of military structures such as air raid shelters or temporary huts. However the lack of clarity of the aerial photograph makes identification hard and it is possible that they are agricultural in origin.
S. Massey (NMP), 29 June 2007.
