Summary

A group of linear ditches, mainly post medieval field boundaries, is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. Most of the ditches appear to equate to, or at least fit the same pattern as, field boundaries depicted on Heckingham Enclosure Map of 1817. The remainder are undated.

A group of linear ditches is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1), centred at TM 3894 9930. Most of the ditches appear to equate to, or at least fit the same pattern as, field boundaries depicted on Heckingham Enclosure Map of 1817 (S2). Those that do not, principally the northeast to southwest oriented ditch on the southeastern side of the site, are of unknown date. Some of the features could be field drains of late post medieval or modern date.
