Map

November 2002 - January 2003. Geophysical, metal detecting and fieldwalking survey. Bacton to King's Lynn Transco pipeline. Plot number 52.
A complex of intersecting linear and curvilinear features associated with high magnetic suscpetibility readings were recorded over an area up to 320m long, the evidence was indicative of a settlement site. Fieldwalking survey found a small scatter of eight medieval pot sherds and a fragment of lava quern stone as well as a brick fragment. It is likely that these findings represent the remains of a shrunken medieval village associated with Manor Farmhouse (NHER 29971), c. 150m to the southwest, and the site of St Giles' isolated church, c. 200m west.
