Summary

A prehistoric flint implement which has been identified as probably a Palaeolithic handaxe roughout was found here in 1975. Subsequent metal-detecting in 1998 and 2019 recovered Roman and medieval coins.

1 Palaeolithic large iron-stained flint tool (Coll. No. 219). See drawing (S1).

Originally described as a cleaver, but re-identified as probably an unfinished axe roughout by J. J. Wymer (S3).
This discovery was first reported in (S4). It is also noted on (S5) and in (S6).
