Early Saxon flat circular object with central perforation blocked by iron corrosion. Wide border with no gilding. Chip-carved, gilded central panel, of a beaded ridge around a circle of twelve groups of three radiating ridges. An inner beaded ridge
surrounds the central hole. The British Museum think possibly linked to late 5th century/early 6th century geometric button brooches, but more likely a late 6th century belt mount. Some peculiar ?solder on reverse.
