Map

November 2007. Norfolk NMP.
The former site of possible cropmarks, potentially representing fragmentary linear ditches and field boundaries of unknown and multi-period date, are visible on aerial photographs to the north of Attlebridge Hills, Attlebridge (S1). The location of the cropmarks has since been quarried away through aggregate extraction. The site is centred on TG 1414 1616. The date (and archaeological origin, see below) is uncertain, although finds of a Bronze Age and Roman date have been recovered from this area (NHER 5613, 20424, 34632 and 37277).

The cropmarks were mapped from a single Meridian 1976 aerial photograph, where no stereo pair was available. The features were additionally located on the extreme edge of the photographic frame, making viewing awkward consequently these cropmarks are of a less certain origin as those that have been viewed in stereo and were more clearly visible. It is possible that some of the cropmarks may be of geological or natural origin.
S. Massey (NMP), 09 November 2007.
