Full Description
December 2007. Norfolk NMP.
The earthworks of a ditched boundary or trackway of medieval to post medieval date are visible on aerial photographs to the north of Primrose Green, Lyng (S1). The site is centred on TG 0642 1641. A number of earthworks relating to settlement, boundaries and routeways of a comparable date have been recorded on aerial photographs within the area, see NHER 14402, NHER 31319 and NHER 50738.
The ditch varies in width from 3.5m to 7m. It seems likely that this earthwork acted as a track or hollow way, although it may also have had a boundary function. The earthwork appears to have been levelled by 1988 (S3).
S. Massey (NMP), 5 December 2007.
