1972. Ordnance Survey vertical aerial photograph (S1-S2).
Soilmark of rectangular enclosure. Around 110m x 70m.
Old field boundaries removed before 1926 also shown; they run parallel to sides of enclosure, which A. Gregory (NAU) believes indicates that the enclosure existed when the fields were made.

19 December 1977.
Having seen the photograph, writer is very sceptical. Only the north and east sides are visible, with perhaps part of a
west. It resembles more a droveway running parallel with the field boundaries.
E. Rose, 20 December 1977.

February 2008. Norfolk NMP.
Comparison of the cropmarks visible on the aerial photographs with the post medieval field boundaries and tracks marked on the 1847 Swanton Morley Tithe Map (S3), suggests that ‘enclosure’ is in fact part of the post medieval field layout and that the cropmarks all relate to agricultural field divisions. None of these features were mapped as part of the ALSF NMP.
S. Massey (NMP), 20February 2008.
