Map

December 2007. Norfolk NMP.
The earthworks of World War One to World War Two date slit trench are visible on aerial photographs next to the gravel extraction area at Sparham. (S1). The site is centred on TG 0738 1791. The site consists of a short section of crennelated trench. The style of this trench could indicate that it is World War One in date, although a World War Two is also possible. It is possible that these earthworks still exist, although they could not be discerned on the latest available aerial photography of the site (1988). A site visit would be needed to establish whether they survive.
S. Massey (NMP), 19 December 2007.
