Summary

A group of undated ditches, including part of a possible enclosure, is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. In the eastern part of the site, a corner of what appears to be a partitioned rectilinear enclosure is visible, but the archaeological origin and significance of this feature is not certain. To the west, is a linear ditch, which could represent a post medieval field boundary.

Map

January 2008. Norfolk NMP.
A group of undated ditches is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1), centred at TG 2501 1840. In the eastern part of the site, what appears to be the southwestern corner of a partitioned rectilinear enclosure is visible. As the cropmarks are visible on only one set of aerial photographs, however, and as they lie close to a field entrance, it is difficult to be certain that they are of archaeological origin and significance. They might instead represent recent agricultural activity, or modern field drains. To the west is a single linear ditch. The orientation of this feature, which broadly fits the modern field pattern, suggests that it could represent a post medieval field boundary.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 14 January 2008.
