Summary

Metal-detecting between 2004 and 2021 recovered prehistoric worked flints (including at least two possible Mesolithic blades); Late Saxon/medieval, medieval and medieval/post-medieval pottery sherds; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; post-medieval tokens and a range of other, Roman to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Roman brooch; an Early Saxon brooch; a Middle/Late Saxon ansate brooch; a Late Saxon brooches, a buckle and strap end; Late Saxon to post-medieval lead spindle whorls; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; medieval sword and dagger scabbard chapes, a padlock in the form of a horse, candle-holder, harness pendant, possible ewer animal-head spout, sheet copper alloy sieve, lead seal matrix and lead ampulla; medieval/post-medieval weights, a candle stick, ring, cauldron fragment and copper alloy vessel fragments and a post-medieval harness mount, pipe tamper, spoon stem and sword belt mount.
